چکیده

UNLABELLED Primary cardiac lymphoma is very rare, and the most common electrocardiographic finding in this condition is complete atrioventricular block. After electrolytic, metabolic, ischemic, infectious, and traumatic etiologies have been excluded, primary cardiac lymphoma should be consided as a possible cause of reversible atrioventricular block. Most patients with primary cardiac lymphoma are immunocompromised and have disease with a B-cell etiology. This is the first case report of a primary cardiac T-cell lymphoma with complete atrioventricular block and torsades de pointes in an immunocompetent patient who was successfully treated using chemotherapy. KEY WORDS Atrioventricular block; T-cell lymphoma; Torsades de pointes.

Complete atrioventricular block associated with takotsubo cardiomyopathy.

An 82-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital due to repeated episodes of syncope with incontinence. Electrocardiography showed torsades de pointes, complete atrioventricular (AV) block, T-wave inversions and a prolonged QTc interval. Urgent coronary angiography showed no significant coronary stenosis and left ventriculography demonstrated typical abnormal wall motion of takotusbo cardiomyo...

Atrioventricular block and pause-dependent torsade de pointes

Introduction Determining the level of atrioventricular [AV] block noninvasively can be challenging (ie, AV nodal versus His-Purkinje system). Presyncope or syncope in the setting of AV block is often assumed to be due to progression of the conduction disease. We describe a woman with second-degree AV block with narrow complex QRS with unclear level of AV block. She developed pause-dependent tor...

Torsades de pointes: Should ECG be taken from all patients before surgery? A case report

Torsades de pointes is a rare but potentially lethal arrhythmia which mainly occurs in the setting of a prolonged QT interval. ECG is a reliable tool to detect such abnormalities, routinely taken from all patients over 40 who undergo surgery. We describe the case of a 35-year-old woman with torsades de points arrhythmia after hysterectomy surgery. Most likely, our patients had long QT syndro...

Complete Atrioventricular Block-Induced Torsade de Pointes, Manifested by Epilepsy

Complete atrioventricular (AV) block is frequently regarded as a cause of informed syncopal attacks, even though the escape rhythm is maintained. Torsade de pointes (TdP) may be a significant complication of AV block associated with QT prolongation. Here, we report the case of a 42-year-old female who was referred to our hospital due to recurrent seizure-like attacks while taking anti-convulsan...

Congenital long QT syndrome: A difficult journey for one young survivor

Introduction Congenital long QT syndrome (LQTS) is characterized by prolongation of the repolarization phase after cardiac myocyte depolarization. It affects up to 1 in 2000 people and is a leading cause of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in the young. To date, defects in 16 genes that code for transmembrane cardiac ion channels or accessory proteins have been implicated in more than 80% of cases. P...
